Residential Architecture: L’Ermitage by Andrea Pelati Architecte + Ipas Architectes: “..fit[ting] perfectly into th[e] verdure, the building is fragmented, plays with its volumes. The environment is reflected in the shimmering facade enliven by the varying colors through the seasons..” This stack of alternately displaced boxes offers maximal light and views..

Interesting project. I bet it has some awesome views. I’m not convinced about the claim that it fits into its surroundings, however.

Thank you for your thoughtful comment, Michelle. Though at first glance it does seem that the project may not fit well into its surroundings, it is important to note that the perimeter of Lac Neuchâtel is really quite densely built up, often with more classic structures, but with a good many contemporary structures as well. -The Editors
