Residential Architecture: House of Coast Work Tsuyazaki by Masao Yahagi Architects: “..a residence and artist’s studio..with individual workshop spaces for both a molding artist and graphic designer. a spacious internal volume with full-height ceilings accommodates the creation of their large-scale projects..the facade is comprised of vertical segments with a double curvature starting at the midpoint to warp inward and outward. spanning the length of the building, the series of twisting elements form windows within the voids generated by the uniform deformations and are protected beneath the roofline. inside, a soft illumination is produced to support the artworks of the wife. artificial lighting emanating from the interior reveals the elevation’s curving surface at night..”  Interesting facade, ample glazing, natural light, interesting interior volumes..
