Residential Architecture: House in Uenoshiba by Fujiwaramuro Architects: “..a gate-style entrance conceals a gravel passageway from street view, entirely revealing itself upon entry and directing visitors towards the dwelling. continuing through the main portal, the unpaved road traverses the home and exits towards a yard. large glass panes enclose the double-storey atrium, including skylights between the overhead wooden beams..the raw space divides the ground level, separating the living area from the dining room, kitchen and washroom. this arrangement allows an uninterrupted connection with the greenery, enjoyed by inhabitants over the course of their daily routines. the upper level bedrooms are access via a stairway within the living room, passing a lofted study which overlooks the lounge below..”  Truly extensive glazing, skylights, abundant natural light, indoor/outdoor sensibility, interesting interior volumes, significant interior wood..
