The always interesting design blog, Designboom, has written a post on Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava’s design for the Denver (Colorado, USA) International Airport’s South Terminal Redevelopment Program that is well worth a quick look, as they say.

And while one is in a Calatrava kind of mood, the wonderful architecture blog “The Architect’s Newspaper” has published a post on Calatrava’s design for the NYC World Trade Center Path Train Station, including a very nice video from the Wall Street Journal (wsj.com).

Of course, a look at Calatrava’s own site, is a must.

Eero Saarinen Collection. Manuscripts and Archives, Yale University

Sketch of David S. Ingalls Hockey Rink, Yale University, New Haven, Connecticut, circa 1953.

The architecture critic, Ada Louise Huxtable, has written an article, entitled “His Buildings Defined a Decade” for the Arts & Entertainment section of The Wall Street Journal (online) looking at the amazing and iconic architectural contributions of Eero Saarinen, his life, and the politcal context in which he worked.  Though the exhibition is, sadly, closed, the article certainly merits your attention.

Rome’s new National Museum of the 21st Century Arts, or MAXXI, will open in May.

Francis X. Rocca has written an article entitled “Why Hadid’s MAXXI Works” for the Arts & Entertainment section of The Wall Street Journal (online) looking at how, and why, Zaha Hadid’s National Museum of 21st Century Arts (MAXXI) in Rome has thus far not only avoided the scathing criticism bestowed on Richard Meier’s 2006 enclosure for the 1st century Altar of Peace, but has, in fact, been received with enthusiasm by critics, officials and the Roman population.
