“Perished Persian” rug by Studio Job/Nodus; image copyright Designboom
The very good design blog Designboom has published a post entitled “Contemporary Rug Design Milan 2010” looking at the designer collaborations with “high design” italian rug manufacturer Nodus for the Salon del Mobile 2010 in Milan. From the quirkily figurative “Circus” rug by the brazilian design duo the Campana Brothers, to the “Barbed Wire” and the “Perished Persian” from Studio Job, passing through some very nice work by numerous others (make sure to look at the Nodus site where you’ll find all of the designs, all worth looking at). Just great!

R Gallery (82 Franklin St., NYC 10013 T 212 343 7979 F 212 343 0226) presents an exhibition of works by the legendary Brazilian designer Sergio Rodrigues through 6 November 2009. If you’re in NYC you quite simply must see this exhibition. No excuses.

The Vitra Design Museum in Weil Am Rhein (Germany) is hosting an exhibition of works by the Campana brothers, Humberto and Fernando, celebrating and documenting the 20 years they have been designing their very special mix of one-offs and major-manufacturer-produced elements of interior and exterior furniture, lighting and accessories. Whether or not their pieces ring your own personal bell, their vision is, undeniably, a very vibrant part of contemporary design. …It’s worth remembering that their designs are as Brazilian as those of Sergio Rodrigues or Oscar Niemeyer…
