Architecture: Abu Dhabi International Airport by KPF: “..Uniquely engineered, long‐span arches support a soaring roof and reach 50 meters at their highest point. Conversely, the internal scale of the departure hall endows the building with an openness that allows for meaningful connectivity between the outdoor landscaping and the indoor civic space..” Terminal.

Architectural Record has published a number of interesting articles and slide shows reviewing the Burj Khalia in Dubai and the Las Vegas City Center looking at, among other things, lighting, construction and economics, notably the boom to bust global economic conditions more or less coinciding with the debut of construction of these two structures and their final completion dates.
