Architecture: Centre for Virtual Engineering by UNStudio: “..The windows of this scientific research centre in Stuttgart by Dutch architects UNStudio are lined up like rows of dominoes set to topple..a series of combined offices and laboratories that look out through the saw-toothed windows..The envelope of the building is a mixture of curved and rectilinear walls and ceilings, which create organically shaped rooms on each of the four floors..An atrium is located at the heart of the building and is crossed diagonally by staircases with treads that are colour-coded to signify the floors that they lead to..” Interesting form and interior volumes, distinctive fenestration, lightwells..

Architecture: Golden Workshop by Modulorbeat: “..a temporary pavilion.the 95 square meter structure’s planning and realization was limited to six weeks..the asymmetrical cross-form plan is strategically located within the plaza to draw inward-looking views from each of its four wings..the black-outlined windows frame the narrowing corridors, tapering the interior walls towards the center, funneling inside the attention of passersby. generating a warm interior atmosphere, the plywood partitions and wooden tables are contrasted by accents of black desk lamps and work stools..” Interesting juxtaposition of contemporary and traditional, social sensibility, sharp, allusional design, wood, graphic sensibility..

Architecture: Alésia Museum visitor’s centre by Bernard Tschumi Architects: “..a visitor’s centre with an ornate herringbone facade..on an archaeological site in central France..The cylindrical centre occupies the same position held by the Roman army during a historic battle against the Gauls over 2000 years ago and its wooden exterior references the timber fortifications that would have been constructed nearby..” Striking detail, historical and cultural contextual sensibility..

Architecture: Sheikh Zayed Bridge by Zaha Hadid Architects: “..Conceived in an open setting, the bridge has the prospect of becoming a destination in itself and potential catalyst in the future urban growth..A collection, or strands of structures, gathered on one shore, are lifted and ‘propelled’ over the length of the channel. A sinusoidal waveform provides the structural silhouette shape across the channel..” Hadid bridge over channeled water..
